What's the difference between your personal profile and act profile?
The Simple Rule
| Personal Profile = who you are | Act Profile = what gets booked |
Hot Giggity gives every entertainer a presence on the platform — whether you're a session musician sitting in with other bands, or a solo artist taking direct bookings.
To do that, we use two types of profiles, each with a different purpose.

Your Personal (Artist/Entertainer) Profile
Your Personal Profile represents you as an individual performer or freelancer. Everyone on the platform has one.
With your Personal Profile, you can:
- Present yourself — your name, photo, bio, and contact details
- Manage your financial details - banking details added to your automated invoices and super details for sole trader super contributions (AU only).
- Join other artists' acts — get invited as a player in their bands or groups
- Manage gig invitations — accept or decline invitations from act owners
- Create song & set lists — build your repertoire and share set lists
If you only play in other people's acts (e.g. you're a session musician, fill-in player, or band member who doesn't lead an act), your Personal Profile is all you need.
Your Act Profile
Your Act Profile is like a mini-website or Electronic Press Kit (EPK) for your act — whether that's a solo show, a duo, a full band, a DJ set, or any other type of performance.
The Act Profile is the entity that gets booked by venues, agents, and private hirers.
With your Act Profile, you can:
- Showcase your act — bio, photos, videos, audio (including Spotify & SoundCloud embeds)
- Receive direct bookings — from venues, agents, and private hirers
- Invite players — add band members to your act and manage your lineup for each gig
- Create multiple acts — set up as many act profiles as you need (solo, duo, trio, full band, etc.)
- Access business tools — gig management, invoicing, and social media scheduling
Which Profile(s) Do I Need?
It depends on how you use the platform:

| Scenario | What you need |
|---|---|
| You only play in other artists' acts | Personal Profile only |
| You take direct bookings (solo, band, etc.) | Personal Profile + Act Profile(s) |
| You run multiple acts | Personal Profile + multiple Act Profiles |
| You run your own acts AND play in others | Personal Profile + your own Act Profile(s) |
Important: If you are an artist who is directly booked by agents, venues, or private hirers, you must set up both a Personal Profile and an Act Profile.
Real-World Examples

Example 1 — Solo artist with multiple acts
Sarah performs as a solo artist, in a duo with a partner, and fronts a trio. She has a Personal Profile and created three Act Profiles — one for each.
Example 2 — Band leader who also fills in
Jake runs a solo act and a 4-piece band (two Act Profiles he owns). He's also invited as a guitarist in someone else's duo — that just uses his Personal Profile.
Example 3 — Session drummer (player only)
Mike doesn't take direct bookings. He's invited to play drums in three different acts owned by other artists. He only needs his Personal Profile.
